Jeff turned professional in 1996 and quickly rose through the ATP rankings, playing the circuit in Europe, Asia, Australia, Latin America, and the United States, including all the Grand Slam events (Wimbledon, French Open, Australian Open and US Open). In 2004, despite having two major surgeries in the first three years of his professional career, Jeff broke into the top 100 in the ATP rankings for the first time after eight years on tour. Jeff was the first American to accomplish this feat after his 30th birthday. At that time, Jeff was the 10th ranked American in the ATP world rankings, after such notables as Andy Roddick, Andre Agassi, James Blake, Todd Martin, and Taylor Dent.
Jeff is a highly sought after mental performance coach focusing on helping individuals reach their goals in sport and in life.
